Stress Management
Coaching is a one-on-one personalized, goal directed process to facilitate self-awareness, career competencies, leadership skills, social and communication skills and promote decisive positive action.
As your coach, I become a vehicle for helping you move to a higher level by expanding skills, boosting performance and changing thought processes. In this collaborative effort, we will identify strategic goals, plan an approach to achieve these goals and develop the path to put the plan into action.
My approach to coaching is to combine one-on-one meetings with tools and assignments that allow you to practice what you have learned. By seeing the immediate benefits of your new skills and developing rapid self understanding, you will achieve confident forward movement.
The demands of leading an organization can be both stressful and lonely. How do you motivate difficult employees? How do you identify the strengths and liabilities of your team members, mentor your most talented while dealing effectively with problem staff? Most importantly, how do you keep yourself happy and healthy, while maintaining a positive professional model for your organization? These are the types of issues often addressed in Executive Coaching.
Executive Coaching is a confidential dialogue directed toward improving business and personal competencies and effectiveness. Our work together typically has a profound affect on the way you, as a leader, think and behave in the context of improving organizational strategy, business relationships and a team community.
Your technical competencies have led to a new management position. Everything is new; your identity, your values, the competencies required and your peer group. Are you one of the team members continuing as is, or do you lead the team in a positive direction? Are you discouraged by the pessimists on your team, or do you have the positive attitude and leadership skills to influence others?
This transition from task to relationship can be a tremendous growth opportunity or a path filled with hidden landmines. Frequently, new managers are referred or come on their own to learn how to understand what is involved in making this transition in a confident, assertive manner.
Today, more than ever, business is conducted by communicating with customers, co-workers, your supervisors, your staff and other departments. Your ability to successfully develop rapport, to understand what another person is saying verbally and nonverbally, to present your view point and work toward a shared goal, are crucial skills in your business relationships.
This process can break down at each level. Learning your preferred communication process, as well as those of the people with whom you interact, can be an important first step in developing the skills necessary for peak performance. Fine-tuning your communication can help you gain trust, a shared understanding of each other’s positions and learn new ways to talk about differences that lead to problem solving and resolution.
If you are dissatisfied with your current career path, uncertain about making a change, considering a promotion, considering a return to school, or aware that your company or industry is soon to eliminate your position, this might be the perfect time for you to consider career coaching.
Career Coaching combines insights from business, psychology, organizational development and personality preferences. The results are greater self awareness, fine tuned skills, and personal growth that encourages full engagement in your life. Most importantly, you will learn a productive decision making process.
Throughout your life there are times when you may benefit from a coaching relationship. A personal coach can function as a sounding board, can teach you effective ways to eliminate stress and adapt to change, or can guide you through important decision making processes.
